Susan Kingsley, Featured Speaker
Would you like to watch the entertaining and informative talk by Susan Kingsley, guild member, author of Hydraulic Die Forming for Jewelers and Metalsmiths, and co-founder of Ethical Metalsmiths?
Susan Kingsley, a visual artist working with hands-on processes. As a metalsmith, she created physical objects that reflect her commitment to craft. Susan brought copies of her book to sell in person.
Making jewelry led her to thinking about how social and cultural values are communicated by “things,” how personal objects shape our lives and reflect our beliefs. She enjoys making art that challenges the status quo, often with irony and paradox.
Susan’s work has been exhibited and published in the United States, Canada and Europe. She’s authored articles on craft, culture and environmental issues and written the technical book, Hydraulic Die Forming for Jewelers and Metalsmiths.
