A two day workshop

MBMAG sponsored a workshop led by Carol Webb on Saturday and Sunday, June 27th and 28th. The workshop was held at the Soquel Glen Park Club House in Soquel.
The small workshop accommodated the maximum of 12 people.
Fee was $225 for two days including all materials except bi-metal.
Class description:
2 Day Etching of Copper Clad Sterling Bi Metal
Students in this workshop learned to design and etch copper clad sterling bimetal. Bi metal was provided based on current silver spot price.
We used PNP film and a Teflon griddle to apply an image resist onto the bi metal sheet. The copper layer was etched through to the silver leaving the design in the copper. The etched bi-metal laminate could then be used to create future works of art.
The workshop included information on soldering, final finishing of the bi-metal and patina usage.
