YEHUDA TASSA began to work in Yemenite Filigree at the age of six. Taught by his father, a well-known jeweler in Yemen, he worked in the family jewelry business for sixteen years. Yehuda revitalized his ‘lost art’ recently and began prolifically producing both ancient and modern filigree designs. He creates jewelry and teaches at several locations in Northern California, incorporating both ancient and modern tools and techniques into his filigree and granulation workshops.

We are offering this workshop exclusively to SMAC members and Alumni until Friday, April 11th at which time we will offer any available seats to MBMAG members, and MPC students.
SMAC is open to all currently enrolled Cabrillo students whether taking metal arts classes or not. However, class 8A or equivalent is required for this workshop.
If you are an alumna of the metal arts department and wish to join SMAC to enjoy all of the privileges (priority for workshops, events, etc.) simply include the Alumni fee (good for the academic year) of $25.00 in your workshop fee.
Mr. Tassa has generously accepted our invitation to give a lecture on Friday evening, April 25th, titled “Yemenite History and their arts” which will be open to the public.
