“SELL WHAT YOU WEAR” 2024
Everyone is welcome at the Opening Reception
June 2, 2024 from 2 – 4 pm
Exhibiting artists are invited to participate in the “Sell What You Wear” experience at the “Around and Round” exhibit opening reception
If you’d like to participate in SELL WHAT YOU WEAR, scroll down to the bottom of this page to fill out the form for the pieces you will wear and sell at the opening reception.
The form is due Sunday May 19, 2024 if you wish to participate
Bring a list of SELL WHAT YOU WEAR items to the artwork drop off. The gallery needs this list to prepare for possible sales of jewelry you plan to wear at the opening reception.
HOW TO “SELL WHAT YOU WEAR“
Each exhibiting artist may wear pieces to the opening reception that are for sale, IF you fill out the form below. Once PVA has the information you enter which includes, the sales price (WITH the commission for PVA included, media used, title, and description) those pieces will be considered part of that selling opportunity.
All exhibiting artists are encouraged to participate. If this is your first time exhibiting and you have questions, send us an email and we will answer your questions.
Artwork for Sale If a person at the opening reception is interested in buying a piece that you are wearing, take that person with you to the PVA office at the front of the gallery. PVA staff will assist you and will help the customer purchase your piece(s).
Membership in PVA is optional, but encouraged. See: pvarts.org to join
For items that sell in the “gift shop” area of the gallery, PVA will take a 30% commission on your artwork if you are a member of PVA. The commission rate is 45% if you are not a member of PVA. Work should be priced accordingly.

Lynda Watson Named to ACC’s College of Fellows
AMERICAN CRAFT COUNCIL ANNOUNCES AWARDS
HONORING DISTINCTION IN THE CRAFT FIELD
2024 Awards include The College of Fellows, Gold Medal for Consummate Craftsmanship, Award of Distinction, and Aileen Osborn Webb Award for Philanthropy
Minneapolis, MN (January 23, 2024) – The American Craft Council (ACC), a national nonprofit dedicated to advancing American craft, announced today the winners of its four major awards. This year marks the 54th year of the awards honoring individuals and organizations for exceptional artistic, scholarly and philanthropic contributions to the craft field.
First presented in 1970, and biennially since 2010, the ACC Awards include the College of Fellows, the Gold Medal for Consummate Craftsmanship, the Award of Distinction, and the Aileen Osborn Webb Award for Philanthropy. This year’s awards highlight 17 artists, curators and arts advocates and who continue to uplift traditions while advancing the boundaries and impact of contemporary craft.
ACC will celebrate this year’s honorees during a virtual ceremony in September of this year. Specific date, time, and details forthcoming.
Biennially, ACC accepts nominations for its awards, which typically come from the current Fellows and a guest list of nominators. Honorees are selected by an Awards Committee, comprised of past Fellows or Honorary Fellows, and are chosen based on professional accomplishments, achievements and support of the craft field.
“This cohort of honorees is an exceptional group of artists, educators and arts advocates who have dedicated themselves and their careers to not only their craft but the craft field as a whole,” said Andrea Specht, executive director, ACC. “Their impact on the arts community has and continues to shape the field and will continue to influence generations to come. We’re honored to recognize them for their contributions.”
“One of the most valuable aspects of the ACC Awards program is that it has a long history that deepens with every new award cycle,” shared Tom Loeser, ACC Fellow 2012, Awards Committee Chair and ACC Trustee. “This year the awardees are amazing, envelope-expanding, inspirational, and risk-taking creative forces. The American Craft Council is honored to celebrate this stellar group of awardees as they continue to create the evolving history of the craft field.”
ACC Awards programming is possible thanks to generous support from the Windgate Charitable Foundation.
Lynda Watson, of Santa Cruz, CA, is an artist specializing in jewelry who was awarded two individual National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships and was named Santa Cruz County Artist of the Year. In 2022, she was selected Master Metalsmith by the Metal Museum in Memphis, TN.
Her work has been shown nationally and internationally and is in the permanent collections of museums here and abroad. It has appeared in numerous books and periodicals and a catalog of her work was recently published by the Metal Museum.

Eighty years later, the organization’s efforts span the nation. ACC shares stories and amplifies voices through American Craft magazine and other online content, creates marketplace events that support artists and connect people to craft, and celebrates craft’s legacy through longstanding awards and a unique research library. A range of other programs creates space for dialogue and action—because ACC believes craft can bring us together as people. Learn more at craftcouncil.org.

NEXT STEPS AFTER REGISTERING FOR THE EXHIBIT + SALE
- Log in to your mbmag.org account
- SCROLL DOWN to the Artwork Submission Form
- Artwork details are due when you fill out the submission form; and must be submitted no later than Nov 1, 2023
- Print 2 copies of the inventory of your submitted art (the Inventory forms are created automatically for you by the online form and automatically emailed to you upon form submission.)
- Create a printed Artist Statement and Artist Biography for the Artists Book displayed at the gallery. These pages help sell your art. The gallery staff uses the exhibit Artists Book to help inform potential customers about each piece and the associated artist. We are always impressed by how much the gallery team knows about each piece and each artist. The gallery team learns much of this from the Artists Book. Please help the team sell your artwork by providing the Artist Statement and Artist Biography.
- Deliver your printed Statement/Biography sheet(s) when you deliver art to the show organizers or gallerist. See below for helpful links.

Online submission with up to THREE pieces of work that have not been previously exhibited at ZFolio Gallery. Submit artist and artwork details plus a maximum of two images for each piece. Images are NOT required to exhibit artwork. If including photos, one image must show the entire piece, and one optional detail photo may be provided. We encourage artists to submit high-quality images. The higher the quality of the photo, the higher the likelihood it will be used for the postcards and social media advertising.
Dimensions, materials used, type of artwork, artist contact information and optional narrative statements are all provided using the online form.
SUBMIT ARTWORK DETAILS & INFORMATION FOR THE GALLERY
Artist Bio and and Artist Statement. Help the gallery team help you sell your art to potential customers by providing the gallery with an Artist Bio and and Artist Statement. We strongly encourage you to create an artist biography and an artist statement and print them (2 pages maximum). Deliver the printed page(s) with your artwork when you deliver it to the gallery.
Here are some resources our artists have found helpful for creating Artist Bio and Artist Statements.
