Color is the element that inspires most of my work; glass is the medium I choose to express my love of color. Making glass beads fulfills a long held dream that has become a passion. Combining the beads with metal in jewelry allows them to be worn and enjoyed as unique adornment.

My goal is to create jewelry that is beautiful, functional and a pleasure to wear. The making process of the work is completed when the piece of jewelry is worn… when it comes to life with the movement provided by the wearer.

How lampwork glass beads are made:
Each bead is handmade in the flame of a torch, using glass canes from Italy, Germany and the USA. The canes of glass are melted onto a steel rod as it is slowly rotated in the flame. Layers of molten glass are twisted, wrapped, shaped and re-heated until the design is complete. The bead is then placed in a kiln to release the stress from the glass and strengthen the bead.
